What's the Difference Between F## and N## Bodies?

For the consumer film SLRs, Nikon produced two versions of each:

  • F## (F60, F65, F70, F75, F80, F90x, etc.)—These are international versions of the camera. With the exception of the F90x which has a very slight feature difference, there aren't any feature differences with the N versions.
  • N## (N60, N65, N70, N75, N80, N90s, etc.)—These versions were imported by and sold by NikonUSA. By having a different letter, it was easy to see which cameras were officially imported by Nikon versus those that were gray market imported.
